Educator Information

Information

Whether you have visited us previously or are planning your first visit, the following information is provided to help you before, during, and after your field study trip to Elkus Ranch.

KWL     Sample KWL

Our staff can best serve your students' special interests if you will complete the first two sections of this KWL activity and bring it with you on the day of your trip. A copy of this activity will also be provided with your confirmation letter when you book a field trip.  The third column will help you evaluate student learning when you return from your visit.

Letter to Parents                Letter to Parents (Spanish)

This letter for parents will provide them with information about their child's visit to the ranch.  It includes information about what to wear, what to bring, where to park, and how to help as a chaperone.

If the weather forecast indicates rain, please remind parents to send children with raingear and boots if they have them.  The ranch has a few raincoats and a few pairs of boots to loan for those who arrive completely unprepared for wet weather.  The majority of the ranch programs take place outdoors.

We love hearing from students and teachers. If you have additional ideas to share or suggestions for us, please let us know.
